Behaviours...

Is the door locked?
Did I turn off the stove?
Are the windows properly closed or could someone creep in?

I never forget when I cycled ten k back home just to check that
I had turned off the stove in my student appt in Borås.
And of course it was turned off.
This probably wasn't the last time I panicked.
But hey I do somehow have a reason since I did indeed burn down the kitchen
and I thought dad would never ever trust me again.

This kind of behavior is so common yet most of us wont admit it.
Almost everybody has their fix or mascot or thing they have to
do otherwise bad things will happen.
Hockey player Mats Sundin had to kiss his wife goodbye three
times before every game and actor Claudia Galli once
had the taxi meter run up to 350 sek cause she had to check
that the door didn't open once locked.

The interesting thing about our minds is that this kind of behavior
could have saved our lives thousands of years ago when we were
cavemen or walked the wide world.
The same goes for stress.
It used to be an adrenalin kick in to help us escape from the attacking tiger or
whatever has an appetite on us.

Nowadays in our world we hardly need it anymore in the same sense.
Although I was very glad for my heart pumping up the extra concentration
when walking through a deserted train station after seeing the movie Knight and Day.

I do love my adrenalin kicks and I need them now and then so I feel that I am alive.
My next fix is in two weeks when me and two girls are going
paragliding for an entire weekend.

Up and away!

Lots of love!
