Tough Mudder

So where do I begin - today me and my amazing neighbour did the Tough Mudder - one of the worlds toughest obstacle races there is. Imagine running half a marathon, in mud, ice cold and wet and getting through 25 obstacles designed by special forces..... Getting through the course is about strength, stamina, a lot of hard work and most of all camaraderie. Whenever you were down in the mud struggling to get up there was always a helping hand, a high five or a smile. It is all about team effort and I loved every second of it!!!!!

The tougher parts was being wet all of the time, almost losing my breath in the ice cold water, heavy heavy clothes and shoes because of all the mud.

The sense of achievement afterwards is indescribable.
No doubt tonight I will sleep like a baby!!!!

2 kgs of mud, mud and clothes

Welcome home for a mudder

Just do it

I am trying out a new diet right now and it is really getting to me.
Previous diet was just getting me eating right and a lot more and the results
have been amazing. The new thing I am trying out is called carbcycling meaning
you have high carb and super low carb days to get your body into burning a bit
more fat.

On high carb days everything is great and I feel strong and motivated
but the low carb days are a real challenge especially since those days
a morning run is added before breakfast.

But it is just for three weeks and I will tell you all about the results when
I am done with my trial. The cool thing is that we can do whatever we
want in our lives and the only thing that limits us is our minds. And my
mind is playing some real tricks on me right now but I have decided
that I will JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And more on love

I just have to post this quote by Charles Poliquin. The full
article can be found here:

"There is no such thing as discipline. There is only love.
Love is the most powerful creative force in the universe.
You are the result of what you love most. You either love
finely etched muscular abs more than donuts or you love donuts
more than wash board abs you could do your laundry on.
It is as simple as that.

Don’t beat yourself up that you have no discipline or further drown
yourself in a sea of refined carbs. Admit that you like crappy food
more than you love strength. Or ask yourself this, what do you really love?
Self-esteem is the reflection of self-judgment. One of the best ways
to raise self-esteem is to make truly loving choices that lead to increased
strength of body and mind. At the restaurant, if you truly love yourself,
you pass on the heavenly smelling basket of bread and creamy butter,
and ask for some more limes for the water..."

I think the thing about stop beating yourself up is very true.
If you really do love cinnamon buns or milk chocolate or whatever it is
enjoy it! Which is just what I am going to do today because today is my
cheat day :)

Lots of love

Charles Poliquin

Seriously this man is a genius!
Charles Poliquin has trained professional athletes
and Olympians all over the world and he is a front
runner on nutritional and training philosophies. I just
love how a "body builder"guy writes articles on probiotics,
Vitamin D, Brain function and a method of measuring
to see what is going on in your body without nasty scans or
blood test. The method is called Biosignature and if you want to
sad his amazing blog check out his web page.

In a few hours I am off for a nice massage and then the next to
last weights training for this week. I have to say I do love the gym
now. I used to hate it. But all this hard work has really paid
off an in no time which is just what a restless soul like me needs.
Weights mean you are your own boss no matter how big or small
you are. And what ever you do is up to you.

Happy to share any thoughts or feelings you have on the weights :)

Also just got the news that a dear dear training and acro yoga
friend of mine is coming to London next weekend and I can't wait to
catch up with him. Just looking into his deep blue eyes makes me
spark and shine again.

Lots of love

The way of the warrior

I think I don't exaggerate when saying that Warrior is one of the best movies
I have ever seen. Ok, most of you probably won't be that impressed.
it's a fighter movie about mixed martial arts and contains some quite cool
scenes. But the movie is also about forgiveness and family
ties. Do you forgive someone who wasn't there for you or betrayed you?
Do you forgive the people in your family although it still hurts?

Unfortunately I have experienced this is in my own family. I haven't
spoken to my oldest brother since my fathers funeral - seven years
ago. My mother passed away when I was fourteen and now I have
my beloved sister, who means the world to me, left and another
brother who is very occupied with his life.

The things that have happened in my family - I just don't know if I can
ever forgive them. But movies like this bring up the question and also
I guess a bit of the sadness. After all I didn't just loose my parents - I lost
almost all of my family.

Warrior is about fighting. Not only in the cage or ring or whatever your
thing is. It is also about fighting for what you love. And that forgiving is a
blessing.

I am not ready to forgive. I don't know if I will ever be.
I just hope I can try some day. Until then I will be fighting.

Have a good kick off of this week all you warriors out there!

Lots of love

One true love

My true loves is training.
I have been training hard but food wise I haven't
been as disciplined as before Ibiza but that has changed
as of today. After all you have to work for the love right?

And I am getting so much love back.
Apparently I am smashing it :)

Time to sleep but I have the biggest smile on!!!!!!!!!!

Standing still

I have been all over for the last month and right now
I just wanted to stand still for a little while.
Although I would so LOVE to do a trip to Switerland
right now and see my beloved family - miss them like
crazy!!!!!!!!

Energy levels are a bit low right now and my self preservation
drive is quite strong. I just need a little rest and I will
be fine.

Today I took a step into the big boys arena doing 15 kg's
on each arm in an exercise. Bye bye baby weights.

Tonight I had a fab dinner with my baby - eating lots
of yummie Vietnamese food and sipping aloe vera juice.
Life is good :D

Time to go to bed.

Toys toys toys

Keeping your training fun and interesting is essential to get and stay motivated. After doing a certain activity for a while - both your mind and your body get used to it. Sometimes a good thing to do is just to change your routine or try something new and most likely you will take that next step or just have more fun :)

Yesterday I trained for the first time at a new gym that opened last week in Linné - Apartment run by two friends who decided to take that leap of faith and do their own thing.

For me I love new machines or gadgets that make me fly or gives my gravity a challenge. I feel free when I move and yesterday I got boosted and fell in love with these little toys:

Introducing the Trex and the V2 Max.

Apparently there is more to come - the trapeeze (as used in Reebooks Jukkari training) and a line (oh yes you got me - for balance training).

This autumn is going to involve some kickass training!!!!
