Oh oh Olympics!

We have had a few amazing weeks in London.
The Olympics, the weather and the buzz around athletes combined with
the city calming down its pace has made London bloom.
The moaning and groaning
that preceded the games has been blown away by enthusiasm, passion
and pride.

Tomorrow we have tickets for the mens basketball bronze and I just cant
wait. The games have inspired me to set up new goals for myself and
to finally enter a race - a triathlon. It wont be until next year and I am not entering to
win but to learn how to enjoy and push without strain.

I have found a new sport that I love and gives me my dose of freedom.
I have found new sporty friends.
It feels as if a whole new world is opening itself.
And I am ready to explore.

Have a fab weekend guys.

Lots of love and a big cheer for the Swedish Royal family
King CG - you rock!!!!!!!

Tri is the magic number

"I am made of all those days you don't see, not just the one you do"

Beautiful video with Tri athlete Jan Frodeno.
Hate being home with a cold when watching this.
I just want to hit the road.

Lots of love

Sumo

When I was in my teens and dad and I were living
alone we used to have these magical nights. He would
make this amazing steak and his super yummie salad
and then we used to crawl up in the sofa and watch Sumo.
It was one of those nights were not many words were spoken
but there was so much being said.

Yesterday when reading the New York Times culture blog
I read about fashion photographer Craig McDean. Before he started
shooting for Vogue and Another magazine he spent a year in
Japan where he fell in love with the art of Sumo.

The photos were never published and kept as his private
collection. Until now. The book will be published on Monday
and I have already ordered my copy.

From NY TIMES":
In “Sumo,” an intimate hand-bound volume from Mörel books,
and in an accompanying show at the Half Gallery, McDean
captures a sport akin to mountain moving in moments of
unexpected fluidity and grace with Baconesque piles of flesh
coming together as if in a dance. The book is punctuated with
moments of stillness, like a portrait of a young wrestler whose
hair is being pulled up into a knot. “Their hair is done, they
are dressed, they are taken care of,” McDean says, realizing
that perhaps the world of sumo wasn’t so far from the world of
fashion as he might originally have thought. “He’s like a model
sitting in a chair.”

Fame

Kicking off a new training season can need a bit of a boost...

Whether it is new training gear, a workshop, a spa session, PT hours, trying another gym or studio...
Whatever gets you going... Just get going.... Just do it.

And boy oh boy would I like to get sweaty in these zebra leggings by Stella for Adidas :)

Right here is where you start paying... In sweat.... Thank you Jazz for such a good workout today :)

Just a little patience.....

How is it that when it comes to ourselves we are the biggest critics? We are often much more lenient, forgiving and much more patient with other people around us.

For instance if you are told nine things out of ten that you did good and one thing you need to improve we tend to focus on the negative parts instead of seing what is good.

Imagine how much much energy and brain power we use!!! Most of us who do yoga or practise some kind of sport have been impatient at some stage. We've wanted to open a certain area of our body, getting up into that hand-stand, or recover from an injury sooner than was appropriate. It is when we get stuck in that impatient state of mind we tend to hurt ourselves.

Don't fake it cause you'll break it!!!!

Patience is a true gift because its practice requires us to stay in the present. Not thinking about what to eat when you are finsihed or being angry at your neighbour who didn't hold up the door for you this morning.

Impatience makes us long for something imaginary that is not in the present; patience requires that we experience what is happening within our bodies and minds right now. Put in another way - impatience robs us of happiness and time. Being patient and living each moment to the maximum, is more than just a virtue--it's a gift!!!!!!!!!!!
