How is it that when it comes to ourselves we are the biggest critics? We are often much more lenient, forgiving and much more patient with other people around us.
For instance if you are told nine things out of ten that you did good and one thing you need to improve we tend to focus on the negative parts instead of seing what is good.
Imagine how much much energy and brain power we use!!! Most of us who do yoga or practise some kind of sport have been impatient at some stage. We've wanted to open a certain area of our body, getting up into that hand-stand, or recover from an injury sooner than was appropriate. It is when we get stuck in that impatient state of mind we tend to hurt ourselves.
Don't fake it cause you'll break it!!!!
Patience is a true gift because its practice requires us to stay in the present. Not thinking about what to eat when you are finsihed or being angry at your neighbour who didn't hold up the door for you this morning.
Impatience makes us long for something imaginary that is not in the present; patience requires that we experience what is happening within our bodies and minds right now. Put in another way - impatience robs us of happiness and time. Being patient and living each moment to the maximum, is more than just a virtue--it's a gift!!!!!!!!!!!
