Superbreakfast

Right now I am all into super foods to boost my body's recovery from Mexican bugs,
colds and flus.

Todays boost:

- Whey protein
- Hemp protein
- Flaxseed oil
- Cinnamon
- Green tea
- Lucuma
- Maca
- Pomegranate
- Chia seeds

Perfect breakfast for an acrobat :)

Peanuts

I love peanuts. I have peanut butter in my morning smoothie (note the
non sugary, organic one), my favorite thing to eat with champagne is
peanuts (weird I know) and if I need quick energy that wont make
me feel sick whilst doing acrobatics I turn to peanuts - the good thing
is that they are sooooo good for you :)

Turbo tapping

Ok, so I have to admit I do looooove a cold whizz of diet coke with crushed 
ice and lemon. But as we all know the stuff isn't at all good for you and
although it doesn't contain any physical calories or sugar it triggers 
the same hormonal response in your body as normal sugar does - i e
triggering insulin levels etc etc. Apparently I am not alone in my
cravings but I have to say that I am a bit chocked when reading about people
who consume 10-15 cans (!) per day. 

But there is a cure and it is called turbo tapping and you can read all

Diets

So it is January and if I can have a guess I would say that this is
peak month for starting diets. I dont believe in diets. I believe
in having a good lifestyle and being happy with with your choices -
whether you chose low carb, high carb or what ever it is.
As long as you are happy with your choices and your body stick to
it!

New supplement trial

Today a new shipment of supplements arrived and I am trying out:

ALPHA LIPOLIC ACID
ACETYL L-CARNITINE

Apparently they boost brain function and loads of other
goodies. The former could even help with depression or
alzheimers. The latter is a great fatty acid and antioxidant
and helps convert glucose into energy instead of the body
storing it as fat and increasing the risk of diabetes.

Nothing that chocolate can't fix

For the last couple of days I have had these massive
chocolate cravings. I usually listen to my body on what it 
needs but the chocolate fantasizing is getting a bit absurd.
In my defense - I like the 85-99% cocoa ones so sure there is
sugar in there but the health benefits of a cocoa percentage
that is that high exceeds the sugar that is left in that dark piece
of heaven.

Interestingly enough I just read this study on women and chocolate.
Turns out that there is no sinner without the saint. 
And no me without a piece of chocolate in sight.

The horse diet

There is always a lot of talk about diets everywhere.
In magazines and TV shows there is a lot of focus on eating
less and dieting.

Contrary to all these diet I think we have lost one thing -
our natural instinct to eat what we need (and no more) and
also the innate ability to heal ourselves. Wild horses for
instance know what to eat when they are sick and they seek
for it in nature. We have the same gift but our bodies are so
filled with outside impressions that we sometimes forget to
tune in.

This is the case when our bodies are clean i e it doesn't tell
us it wants sugar because sugar is one of the most dangerous
and addictive drugs there is.

Well enough about the what you should or shouldn't.
Scientist have found that if you eat strawberries with a
high fat high carb meal - it helps your insulin levels to
stay low and are packed with antioxidants that have SO
MANY benefits for you :)

Detox

Phew had a quite tough reaction on my new diet this
morning. I felt as if there was no energy left in my body
and I think this is going to be the case for a few days before
it adjusts to no coffee, little carbs and loads of
protein. In order to burn protein the body needs energy
and the goal of my diet is to burn fat. So the fat brun
will assist me in getting my protein. Complicated huh?

What feels good is that this diet has been tailored for me
and my body. Just need to make my metabolism
understand that.
