Moscow never sleeps

Back from Moscow.
What a place.
Beautiful architecture vs big concrete blocks.
Abundance and luxury vs extreme poverty.
A place that fascinates by its contrasts.
During this weekend so many different kinds of feelings and thoughts have gone through my head.

The best picks of the weekend was:

Getting to see the Kremlin - a place that breathes and oozes power and glory - the symbol of the city and of the government.

Shopping at GUM - a shopping mall that makes you feel like you have gone back 50 years in time. Especially beautiful at night when the facade lights are switched on.

Having dinner and partying at soho rooms, luch bar and café pushkin.

Lighting candles in the cathedral thinking of m & d.

The subway – this must be the only subway in the world decorated with marble, statues and chandeliers. One interesting thing I notices was that almost every statue had that deep wrinkle between the eyes like when you are really mad or really worried (where is botox when you need it the most).

Buying kitsch at a market in the outskirts - best buy my new fabulous sable fur hat (very politically incorrect I know).

And of course meeting a lot of interesting people...

The only things I didnt get to do was to try yoga russian style and to go to the Bolsjoj Theatre that is being renovated. Another time. Another story.

Anyhow it feels good to be back home -cant wait to catch up with you guys, go training and breathe fresh air. Breathe and reboot :)

Here is some Russian hit music for you.
