has been amazing. I have something called a combination of athletic and
varicose veins meaning that my veins are very superficial and some of them
not completely functional causing me pain and discomfort. One leg is worse
than the other and yesterday was step one of at least two surgeries.
The procedure involves laser, hooks and injections - all with the focus on
closing the vein. It is done under general anesthetic meaning that you get a strong
sedative but you remain (barely conscious).
The week afterwards compression clothing should be worn and then it might take
another couple of days for all of the bruising and swelling to go down. In a month
I am doing the other leg and then potentially additional treatments on the feet.
The hardest part - which I find a lot harder than pain and surgery prep - has been
keeping still afterwards but I am aiming for a very light gym session tomorrow.
The lovely part is getting so many sweet texts, messages and TLC from all of
the lovely people in my life (especially cherries, smoothies and the greeting that if
they were here they would get me ice lollies - which I have a childish love for).
You rock!
Lots of love!
