Yes, I know we have heard it a thousand
times but this story deserves telling.
In China the suicide rate is as high as 200,000 people per year.
One man, Mr Chen, made it his mission to help decrease this rate so every
weekend he stands guard by the Nanjing Yangte River Bridge.
Chinese officials tried to put an end to the jumhttp://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=3693276164288880339ping by smearing
butter on the structure is this has been as successful as Mr Chengs
stopping 174 jumpers is yet to prove.
"Value Life Every Day" is Mr Chengs graffiti below the bridge.
What a story. I am amazed. And in grey grey January this gives
us something to think about or at least a smile on our lips.
And another thing that makes me smile is my lovely life.
Outside the political hell at work right now things are lovely.
I am riding out the storm and enjoying having spare time,
going to the gym and being social.
Even though they say Christmas is over - in my house
they are still baking ginger bread.
Lots of love
