Passion

This weekend I have been thinking a lot about passion. What is passion to you and what makes you feel passionate? Have you ever lived if you havent felt passion in your heart?

Passion comes from the greek word pathos that means suffering, disease, feeling and passion. I think most of us can think of a love, relationship or circumstance that balances on the fine line between love and hate or is a state of extremes.

On Saturday I met a man who works as a mgmt consultant on his way to a salsa evening and although he must be at least 50 years he walked like a young boy and he was on fire. He told me how he even arranges his business trips so that he doesnt miss out on his salsa evenings. Seing the glow in this mans eyes got me so inspired.

When doing a bit of research on passion I stumbled on this speech by author Isabel Allende. If you have 18 minutes to spare check out her speech on passion and feminity on

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/isabel_allende_tells_tales_of_passion.html

What matters most, more than training or luck, is the heart. Only a fearless and determined heart will win the gold medal or get to the goal. The heart is what drives us and gives us our fate. And in our hearts - if we are truly alive - there is passion.

Isabelle tells how she needs mavericks, dissidents, adventurers and rebels who ask questions and bend the rules. Nice people who dont say anything dont make interesting characters only good former spouses. She wants to make this world good, not better, good. Why not? Its possible?

So open your heart - are you alive - are you feeling? Even if it hurts from time to time - if you dont get the lows, you wont cherrish the highs as much.

Breathe. Love. Live.
