Spinning for diabetes

In the UK almost every race or event is about charity and on Friday
my bank participated in the JDRF Ride to cure diabetes at the Royal
Exchange in the middle of the city of London. Each team of five riders had
to cycle as far as possible for eight minutes and the team that reached the furthest
won. As neither of us are big cyclists its needless to say that my team didnt
make first place. BUT the great thing about racing for a charity is that there is
always a winner and we managed to raise 1200 GBP for diabetes research.

Saturday was we run the night with Nike in Victoria Park and my body slowly saying
no to doing a third race within two weeks but as I had to prove to myself that I could
do a good time I still managed to do 10k in 42,3 - not my best time but still very
pleased.

Time to give my body of break from racing and now awaits building a stronger body.
Afte all it is very true when they say that rest is the element of training that most people
get wrong.

Time to put my feet up :)
Lots of love!!!!

we are the world

Right now Im watching Faddergalan on TV and I want to cry and laugh at the same time. There are so many kids out there without a future. Without someone caring.
And most of us - well we feel sad for a couple of minutes and then we switch the channel to something that doesnt ruin our appetite or make us feel bad.

So how about making a change? How about contributing something to another human being? How about lightning that spark of hope for someone who has lost all faith in life? The difference to you - three fikas per month. The difference to them - life or death.

My "kiddo" is called Lucien and he is nine years old and lives in Burkina Faso. Every letter his familly writes on how he is growing, what is going on in their village and how he likes the stuff I send him from time to time (this christmas its a Swedish football t-shirt) give me so much perspective.

Its time to make a change...

Think Pink

Already in the early 90’s the month of October was dedicated to be the International Breast Cancer Month – for most of us known as the pink ribbon. Everywhere in the world, for almost 20 years, people have been creating publicity and raising money for the cause. However, breast cancer is not just a reality of October. Breast cancer is a hard reality of the entire year. The very same reality as any other life threatening disease that deserves the same attention and awareness.

Statistics show that one out of ten women get the disease during their lifetime.

So I decided to kickstart October today by investing in these goodies.

What will you do today to make a difference?
