In the UK almost every race or event is about charity and on Friday
my bank participated in the JDRF Ride to cure diabetes at the Royal
Exchange in the middle of the city of London. Each team of five riders had
to cycle as far as possible for eight minutes and the team that reached the furthest
won. As neither of us are big cyclists its needless to say that my team didnt
make first place. BUT the great thing about racing for a charity is that there is
always a winner and we managed to raise 1200 GBP for diabetes research.
Saturday was we run the night with Nike in Victoria Park and my body slowly saying
no to doing a third race within two weeks but as I had to prove to myself that I could
do a good time I still managed to do 10k in 42,3 - not my best time but still very
pleased.
Time to give my body of break from racing and now awaits building a stronger body.
Afte all it is very true when they say that rest is the element of training that most people
get wrong.
Time to put my feet up :)
Lots of love!!!!
