Today I came across some research about complaining.
The average person complains about 15-30 times per day (oooops....).
The five main reasons for complaining:
- To start a conversation or establish camaraderie
- To avoid taking action by shrinking responsibility
- To brag about their superiority
- To control others
- To pre-excuse bad performance
Obviously reasons number one is "less bad" than the remaining four.
But complaining can be a way to force other people to carry your negative feelings.
You unload your frustration onto others.
After all, it is so much easier to complain than to actually make a change and deal with
what is making you complain.

In light of that is it is no wonder if you sometimes feel drained if when surrounded by complainers.
When I read the article I started reflecting on my own behaviour and of the behaviour of people
around me. And for sure it is ok to complain - we all love a good verbal bash at something. But if it
becomes a mantra, a recurring item in your conversation with others it is time to either:
- Make a change
- Upgrade your attitude
After all life will never be perfect (would be so boring if it was). There will be challenges, dark moments and
times when it feels like everyone if on your case. The one thing that is "easy" to change is your attitude.
Hard times dont last forever so dont act like it.
Lots of inspired love
