This morning I listened to a podcast about Lance Armstrong, who has been in
the news lately for a doping scandal. He has been stripped of all his medals and is
banned from competing for the rest of his life. But there is no proof, just witnesses.
Witnesses who say that they did take illegal substances and so did Lance.
I nor anyone except for Lance and the people closest to him will ever know the truth.
To me he is still OUTSTANDING. Someone who gets a verdict of 40% survival due
to cancer spreading in his body and fights back like he has done is a true Superhero. Drugs
or no drugs. Someone who believes and acheives. Someone who kicks the big C back and
says "I am going, but not today".
Like the witnesses say: "Everyone did it." Well, if that is the case he did win against his equals.
If everyone did it then they should all go down.
This blogpost goes out to dear friend Rushi who is kicking some of his fears this weekend
and grabbing them by the throat and saying "I will do it".
It is when we stand in front of something big, something scary or something unknown that
we are given the opportunity to excel. How you do it or if is up to you. But like Lance
said:
“This is my body, and I can do whatever I want to it. I can push it; Study it; Tweak it; Listen to it.
Everybody wants to know what I am on.
What am I on? I am on my bike busting my ass six hours a day;
What are YOU on?”
Happy weekend lovelys!
