Hello dear dear readers!
I am back in the big L after a few lovely days in Florence
and Tuscany. We flew out in Thursday evening after I had
my training assessment and fitness test. The result I have
had for these three months are amazing and strength is really
starting to kick in :)
Anyway.... Florence... Lovely city with great food and amazing
hospitality. We stayed at Hotel David - great value for money
and cozy clean rooms with lots of freebies like wifi, 10 min calls
every day, aperitif with snacks and great breakfast.
We saw the sites, walked around, had loads of yummie ice-cream
(chocolate sorbet and vanilla soya were THE best and all dairy free),
and just had a great time. On Saturday we picked up our rental car
and headed for the country side. An hour outside of Florence we
checked in at quirky little boutique hotel (called 7047). The owners
had really gone a bit berserk on the interior design and sometimes
too much of the good stuff can actually be too much. But with
lovely hosts, free lunch with all kinds of cheese, cut meats and
salad and a beautiful breakfast there is nothing to complain about :)
In the evening we drove on to the little Osteria in Badia di Passignano
for a tour of the vineyards and cellar and one of the most memorable
evening of my life. The wines we drank, the food and the atmosphere....
I just wanted to stop time!!!!!!
Sunday was chill day and we walked around the pretty little town
where we stayed - San Miniato. In the evening another lovely dinner
and then we slept like two little angels.
Today we have mostly been traveling. First the drive back from
San Miniato to Florence and then the flight and train ride back to
our beloved flat. After all this is our home and there is no Tuscan
hill that can beat that!
Lots of love
