After having slept 16 hours my body has gained the strentgh to react with a headache that makes my head feel like it has a church bell attached to it. I can work very very hard for long periods but from time to time the good girl needs to get some rest.
The good girl phenomenon is a common thing.
I read about a CFO of a big Swedish insurance company
talking about how she almost got burnt-out because of her high demands on herself.
I think most of us recognize the strive to be perfect.
To have the perfect career, the perfect familly, a perfect social life.
Ignoring the signs when friends and familly tell you that you
need a break or your body gets these strange symptoms, you
might hit the wall.
need a break or your body gets these strange symptoms, you
might hit the wall.
Why do we want to be so perfect?
How fun is perfect anyway and where does it get us?
It is the path and the travelling that should be fun.
Reaching the goal will not keep you satisifed for a long time.
Then you start running towards the next one.
There is a good saying in Swedish that goes - Skynda långsamt.
The best translation would probably be More haste, less speed.
Like a good friend of mine used to say - You have more than thirty years
left of working so chill out.
So today and tomorrow I will be taking it slow.
Very imperfect but VERY nice.
Lots of love!
...but a perfect inlägg om DF syndromet!
