Love-hate London

This weekend flew past way too fast.
We should invent a clock to slow down the good parts.
Or we should get better at that carpe diem thing.

Friday I came home very late from work and spent the entire
night cooking and cleaning. Getting to bed when you are exhausted
is just the best feeling.

Saturday morning I had Garuda with ex model Luigi and three other
lovely people. As always the laughter and the vibe in the classes
are heart warming. Then I headed off to the shitty St Martins Lane hotel,
which is supposed to be a five star, ubercool design hotel but that
delivered shitty service (sorry for the s-word) and didn't deliver according
to plan. Meeting up with my sister and the two big kids (who really are two
young people more than kids) was so amazing and we spent the whole
day together just browsing around and catching up. In the evening
we had dinner at our place and the warmth of our apartment and
all the love still makes me smile.

Chicken korma, 3 different kinds of chutney, rice, veg and popadums

Sunday was not as pleasant. Both tube lines from my part of town
were down and due to parades there was no way of getting a
cab ride in to the city centre that would be under an hour or
a cab ride under 50 pounds....

London does easily stop when there is any sort of disruption.
I am so glad I can walk back and forth to work during the
Olympic Games because it will be mayhem. People not used
to the situation (like me a year ago) get mighty frustrated or don't
understand. But London is London and not Sweden or Germany.
And although it will never be my number one city I
have friends and people around me
who make me like it here. And that is worth more
than a perfect tube.

Lots of love
